The yellow pearl

The yellow pearl came int anchorage after dark and it was anther moonless night so it was real hard to see what she looked light with just a few navigation lights on. Otherwise known as LeGrace.eu, she looks to be a charter boat of the days of long ago the patrons were tending to the inboard activities before piling all into the dingy to head ashore.

And a shot of sun rise while waiting on the crew to wake from the 12+ hours of peaceful sleep last night.

We will probably motor sail over to Mustique today. Make a little water and some electricity to top off the batteries.

The great Mayrou lime day

Limed Christmas day away on the hook in Saline bay all day long. A gentle breeze is blowing and gentle waves rocking the boat slightly.

A quick video of what it looks like here.

I posted a couple updates via the SSB radio hopefully they are on line.

After a long night and early church run. Wayne and Christine took a nap, cause that’s what you do when ya got nuttin else to do on a lovely Christmas day. Christine, er Santa brought 3 little stockings of goodies for the crew of the Shack. Chocolates for everyone. I gave the Shack a bath and tried to get the pollution run off from Trinidad.

We have pork chops thawing out for dinner. Gonna be another lovely day in paradise.

Liming all day takes a toll on ya. It’s 7:30 and everyone is fat and happy after dinner and slowly assuming the horizontal positions after some yummy pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes. Humidity dropped and it’s borderline cold here at 80 degrees.

We watched a 60 foot lagoon catamaran try to anchor for about an hour before they finally settled on a spot. Huge boat. We’ll be on the move again tomorrow, having been here for 2 nights it’s time to find a new view. Thinking we are going to Mustique, a private island with expensive mooring balls but ya gotta go check it out at least once and since we haven’t been there before there is no time like the present to go exploring.

While washing the boat I noticed that one of the other boats in the anchorage was flying a Texas flag. Well it was upside down so and I was already in the dingy so I took a break and went on an excursion. I came along side and said “Howdy y’all” well turns out the family was from London and had just sailed across in the ARC and had Texas crew on board that had put the flag on upside down. They offered me a beer so I stayed and chatted with them for a while the the wife and kinds did not cross the Atlantic they were just here to enjoy the Christmas season.

Our little anchorage is a little more crowded this eve but we are holding down to the very end of the line of boats. We can hear the waves on the rocks off to our starboard. It’s beautiful.

Merry Christmas.
